Default ANYONE NEED CAR INSURANCE?

Passion Ford Members Insurance scheme from Greenlight Insurance

Call 01277 263030 or visit www.greenlightinsurance.com/passion_ford.php for a quote.

As most of you will already be aware, Greenlight have successfully piloted a Passion ford Insurance scheme in 2004, taken on board the comments of Passion ford members that have contacted us for a quotation or taken out policies with us during this time. Then used your feedback to improve both our infrastructure and that of your scheme.

The Passion Ford members scheme that we piloted last year has performed well, which has allowed us to expand the panel of underwriters for the Passion Ford scheme.

In practice, more underwriters equates to more competition and better premiums or terms for members.

Why choose Greenlight -What are greenlight able to offer?

1) We have a decent level of technical knowledge for performance, modified, custom & kit built vehicles

2) We offer Competitive premiums with further discounts for Passion ford members (this discount is available to all members - pilot scheme & existing clients automatically receive and continue to recieve the scheme discount)

3) We understand the vehicle enthusist mentality

4) We like to cover modified vehicle drivers, our view is very much that if you are spending money to improve your vehicle it demonstrates that you keep your vehicle in good order and clearly care for your vehicle.

5) You CAN disclose all modifications and we can accommodate anything up to and including full roll cages and nitrous oxide. - Agreed value available (1/1/2006 onwards)

6) Our underwriters offer ‘like for like’ replacement of modified parts for repairable instances and where possible, or an equivalent substitute part will be offered.

7) We are Performance vehicle specialists and as such look to cover performance models, as with modified vehicles we like the element of pride and care that goes with a performance vehicle – our premiums will reflect this.

Basic acceptance criteria

Due to our only covering performance or modified vehicles, the underwriters require all drivers to be aged 21+ with a full UK license for at least 12 months.

Postcode – if you feel your area may be high rated it may be better to contact us via the telephone, rather than using the online quote facility.

Greenlight & excluded postcode area’s
we recognised following our pilot of the Passion Ford Member scheme that there were postcode areas that we were unable to offer cover for under the single scheme. There will still be postcode areas that we can’t cover, but when sourcing further underwriters we have expanded the postcode areas that our underwriters are able to cover.

Historically underwriters have continued to write business and subsidised the poor performing areas by increasing premiums within the better performing areas to offset. These days, in the competitive market that exists and to maintain competitiveness underwriters choose to adopt a different stance. They have cut any subsidies to poor performing areas to concentrate upon and be more competitive in the area’s that have consistently perform well

To update
This post is to remind you all that we're here to help if you need Insurance for your car.

The Passion ford scheme is constantly being improved as a result of member comments, with the latest enhancements being made on 1st January 2006 with the Agreed value option for modified vehicles and bonus protection being available to drivers aged 22 or over (must have 5yrs NCB for protection).

We'd like to thank those of you that have taken cover with us to date, your business is very much appreciated and you've helped us to improve the scheme to better suit members needs.

The Passion Ford schemes are here to be used, they are competitive and offer a high level of relevant cover. So, those of you that havent tried us to date give Greenlight Insurance a go. We'd love to hear from you.

Kind regards

Just out of interest Tony, would i have to be a passion ford gold member to take out a policy in this scheme? Also im a relatively new driver (about 9 months!) and i dont own an RS, would there still be a benefit to joining the scheme? I guess getting a quote is the best answer....

I guess from your website that this scheme is only for modifed/high performance vehicles, do you offer anything for "Normal" cars!?!

Hi Neil,

You dont have to be a gold member, but gold members do receive a heightened discount to reflect their support of the forum.

Most of our schemes require that you have a Full UK license for at least a year, so we would be far more competitive if we could do from when you have held your license for 12m.

With regard to models, the schemes are designed for modified & standard Ford models. We are able to cater for other vehicles under different schemes though.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Gra,

We only sell annual policies, but you can pay them over 12 months on instalments if that helps.

Kind regards

Tony,

It's not a Ford, but I'd be interested on your policy on insuring Jap imports.

I know some places impose a loading, but I can't quite see why?

As such, for a 26 year old with 6 years NCB and a clean licence, I'm paying a relative fortune!

Hi Richard,

We have several Japanese import schemes, we can cover both Modified & standard imports for drivers aged 22+

Theres no loading with us as such for most models, but some models that are difficult to obtain parts for and are not supported by their main dealers (ie Subaru) or cost £1500 for a windscreen replacement (some Nissan Skyline and Mitsubishi Pajero models) are grouped slightly higher than their UK counterparts. This is all based upon the respective Underwriters claims experience.

Hope this helps..

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Buddy,

Providing youve driven a performance car for 12mths, we can cover you on imported vehicles (modified or standard) from age 22+

This has been agreed from January forward and from memory I thought our site had been changed to reflect this.

Just checked and it shows 22+ so pop your details onto our website www.greenlightinsurance.com/passion_ford.php and we'll sort a quote out for you pronto.

Kind regards

Tony

In April I will have had my license 12 months and be aged 24 with 1yrs no claims. I live in Leeds, LS6 3LX and would be parking the car on the road in a quiet cul-de-sac.

Would you guys be able to offer cover on either:

1995 Astra GSi with a Calibra Turbo engine and gearbox conversion

1995 Jap Import MR2 GT-Turbo, no mods

This is the kind of stuff I'm looking at right now but don't fancy going through the quote process as I'm still 23 and approaching that one year's no claims. Messing about with false details for a quote is annoying

Hi Dan,

The quote provided was fully comprehensive cover, with like for like cover for your mods & had an agreed value provision included.

Our quote also includes a courtesy car from the approved repairer facility in event of repairs. In addition, should your vehicle be stolen or written off the quote includes a 14 day guaranteed hire car provision.

If you PM me the details of your existing insurer, their terms & excess i'll refer to our Underwriters again for you.

Kind regards

Tony

mmmm,

My escort cosworth is a concours condition 400BHP show car that gets driven and I have spent circa £40,000 building her and at the moment I have an agreed value on her of £25k from the RSOC insurance scheme. I've been on your website on the modified cars section but it says that you dont do agreed value on modified?? Can you shed some light on that please??
