I agree that it looked awesome. I remember that car before he really went to town on it, several years ago at National Day.

i can only tell u they ran it to 389bhp and 388lb/ft on the dyno before running out of injectors! it was in a fast ford thrash but he ran it on road tyres etc,was very quick but was only revving to 5500rpm IIRC due to the aforementioned fuel shortage!

Know what your saying Christian, I reckon personally it recorded better time in its old spec than it did it's new one

christian think its more to do with the time the car was on the scene in more than one rude gize i first remeber it as a mad 1900 with supra tailpipes exiting the number plate
then the all new with the zeta it was a let down never to see any times out of what was a very well specced zetec turbo

Well, the first time I saw it, it was virtually standard bodywise, I just remember a 'Yellow triangle' sticker about the exhaust that read 'Danger - Emits Flames'. It was fairly quick back then.
I'm not trying to have a go at anyone, but just wondered if it was a legend in terms of its looks, or if it had delivered some times that I had missed somewhere.
Incidentally, where was the 389bhp recorded?

PassionFord Post Whore!!

I had the 'pleasure' of a blast up the road in this car a short while before it got broken.
Steve B, who was Steve @ RSX at the time, took me up the road by RSX when it was running something like 11 PSI of boost and it couldnt rev beyond 6k as it hadnt been set up.
We did the same stretch of road in a Skyline and SOY was quicker by nearly 10mph.
Good only knows what that would have been like at the projected boost and with the rev limited set higher.
That car was a weapon.... and its a testment to the car and the owners attention to detail that the car is still being talked about 2 years after it was broken up.
Its probably the James Dean of RS Turbos, did a few good things, looked handsome and then 'died' before reaching its full potential.
Whichever way you look at it... its a legend

I remember the car as being a legend in the rst scene, i dunno why, probably because of its mental states of tune/looks mostly, always one that caught my eye and stood out!

The engine was mapped by Ahmed on SCS dyno. It was capped at 5500rpm as the fuel pressure regulator was a 2.7 bar jobbie and it needed a 4.7 bar one. It made 389 bhp / 388 lb ft torque at 2 bar of boost. The performance Ford feature said that it would have gone over 400bhp maxing out the T34 it had if the mapping had been finished.
There's plenty of pics in the link that Tony (NutsRus) posted the links too

I had the pleasure of putting the car together in its final phase (and stripping it months later....lol)..... came to me as a rolling shell with all the bits and pieces to build it back up to its final guise....

As NeilM says the car at only 10psi was slightly faster (up to about 110mph on an industrial estate

At the Fiesta Vs Escort thrash at Brunters it was the fastest car over 1/4 mile running just 10psi and ran 140mph in no time at all on the straight but maxed out on revs due to limited to 5500rpm (would rev to over 8000 rpm)
Had the car have been 100% finished it WOULD have been an absolute weapon but unfortunatly James got bored (had owned it 7 years) phoned me and I stripped it in an evening and the bits got sold off
