i realise that u all do lovely things with yours cars so this question may make me look like a big burbery wearing pikie with gold earings.. but honestly.. i just like pretty things...

and i dont like orange... and my lights in my corsa are orange (the car isnt helping my image hehe)... and i REALLY dont like orange...

and my friend has a VW, and its pretty cos it has blue lights, and i want blue lights cos my stereo has blue lights.. and i only pootle around anyway so its purely cosmetic for me hehe...

i was looking on ebay and they ahve some but i dont know if theyre worth it or just a waste of money...

fair enough, i know what ur saying... im not looking to fill my car with leds, undercar neons, black my windows out and then whack my windows open with some phat beats pumping out...

... im not like that, infact its rather amusing cos im probably as far away from that as u can get... except that i own a corsa....

all im looking to do is swap something that comes standard in other cars anyway... all VWs have blue dash lights, and i like aesthetics and the orange clashes with my stereo hehe...

im kidding... i probably wont do it im just fussy like that... (hmm... ignore the corsa)

and as for licking ass... the only person who offered to do something is AJ who i know and i think its abit unfair that u say they do it cos im a girl... u know full well on this board there are so many people who are willing to help others out!

i did it with my car(escort rst), was a little more complicated than you suggest but it simply involved changing the dash for white dials with blue lettering and changed the bulbs for 4 x white wide angle led's that sit behind said dials. results are impressive and as you siad they now match my stereo and my gauges

I think all pre 2000 fords have pretty crappy looking gauges and the first thing i'd do was change them as they are always green or orange and never light up very well.

Andi (led auto design off ebay) is a top bloke. I bought some bulbs of him for my Vectra to replace the crappy orange lights. Just got a few switches above the stereo to do now to complete the look.

Btw, the bulbs are brighter than they look in this pic: have to cover the flash as I didn't know how to switch it off at the time

take your old bulbs out and get a blue permy felt pen and colour them in

Fair point mate..altho they aren't really an expensive mod for a big transformation.

Good DIY tip tho for those on a budget.
Tbh, I painted my side repeater bulbs in the Vec rather than pay for silvatec bulbs..lol They worked just as well.

No, you'd get away with black dials, bit wouldn't look as bright. Also depends if the dials have cut-outs for the numbers (as in top pic) or whether the light would shine through the dials themselves (lower pic)

sorry you are a bit wrong there!

The top ones (mine) are white dials with blue letters and white led's behind them, they just light up like this at night.

the bottom ones are white dials with electroluminescence that light up the entire face blue when switched on, and not illuminated from behind (if i remember right from previous threads)

Yeh, course they are. What the fook was I on about ?? Those top dial look like my old white dials at night, except I had red bulbs in the back.

blue dash lights look the nuts. one of the best bits about new vws lol. i had them in my nova and it really set the interior off well. better than the vx whitey orange shite they put in.
