Default MG ZR question (pics)

The MG ZR's

the top of the range 160 bhp 16v version

Did they do it in a 3dr and 5dr???

And did they come with leather as standard???

Did they come with a twin exit or single exhaust???

Any other ways to spot the 160bhp version from 1.4 look a likes????

This is the car in question

Thanks

I'm fairly sure thats NOT a 160.

AFAIK all the options were available on all models. I know that the wheels certainly were, those are known as 'Straights'. They also did 'Hairpins' which look a little like Hockenheims.

The reason I say that its not a 160 is that the 160's all had a '160' logo beneath the ZR badge.

if it's got a VVC engine then it's a 160! what does the rev counter redline at? VVC 160's are 7200 rpm

the car in your picture has a single exhaust pipe, 160's have two.

why don't you ask the person who owns it?

thats either a 105 (1.4) 120 (1.8 non vvc) 101 tdi or 115tdi. the 160 has the badge on the back and twin pipes.

i've got the 1.4 version, looks nice, drives well but is slow as hell. selling soon though.

if it has rear drums and is a petrol is the 1.4

Thats defo not a 160. No twin pipes, interior trim is wrong, no 160 badge under the flags on the boot. Also that has a sunroof and I didnt think it was an option as the 160 had air-con as std.

I had an 03 plate 160, px'ed a week before Rover went bust against a Focus RS. The dealer gave me top money for the MG, a week later it was worth naff-all.

Best bit is as it's a Rover you can buy one now for about Ł8.50. Although the headgasket repair may cost a few quid more

It ain't a 160 though even if it is an 1800. the 160 I'm pretty sure uses the VVC motor

I'm 80% sure the do a more normal 1800 16v as well. The exhaust is wrong for it to be a 160 though.

They even do a 1.4 with enough power to stop dead if you try to remove custard skin

they do a 1.8 16v 117bhp in the ZR120, and a 1.8 16v vvc 158bhp in the ZR160

But looking at the weight of it, it needs a HUGE engine!!
