Need a PC with a duel video output Gaz;

I'm guessing that the guy in the pic I posted has the far left and middle screen connected to a PC with a dual video set up, and the screen on the right is running from a DVD player or TV input, as Dell put Analogue (VGA) / Digital (DVI) / S-Video / Composite / Component inputs on those 24" widescreen monitors - so you coul connect up a video, DVD player, digital TV decoder, etc into it

Which is cool cos you connect a PC to one input and a DVD player to the other input, the Dell 24" screen as PiP (picture in picture) and PbP (Picture by Picture) so you can view two sources on one screen

I wanna do the same thing but with a big bastid 42" LCD screen

Here's mine - 17" Dell TFT one one side, 24" TV on the other. It's good, but I would like to combine both into one unit

Don't bother with an lcd intended to be used as a tv. They have a shit resolution - most of them are max 13XX x 768 or so. Even the smallest widescreen computer displays can do higher than that. Wth computers you should want a larger desktop area - not just larger picture.

About 10 years ago i used to write control software for power stations and it was standard practice where i worked to use the main server as a development box when you were working on it.

Used to have 3 screens, all 28" joined together, was fucking awesome for playing games on.

Funny thing is though the machines had arrays for 4 processers all half a gig each and a gig of ram, seemed like an enormous spec to have, and used to cost around 50K at the time, but now you wouldnt even buy an entry level PC with that little power!

Nah thats the thing - if I bought an LCD or plasma big widescreen (like 40", 42", 50" etc) I want a monitor only, and I want it to be commercial grade, as they are generally better. Reason for monitor only is I don't want it with built in speakers or TV decoders etc..... Just want a big flat panel monitor, commercial grade usually is of a higher Hz rate aswell, and plug everything into it from PC, to DTT box, DVD, VCR, etc.... Then all those units would run their sound out to an AV amp which runs the 5.1 sound set up.

We had this all set up on my TV downstairs (the gear was my bro's which he has taken to his new house now ) but it basically left the TV as a monitor as we didn't use the speakers on it (put em on mute as otherwise they disturbed the audio as we'd spent ages perfectly positioning the speakers for 5.1) or the remote as everything ran thru the AV amp

Which is why I keep going down the big Asda's and Tesco's asking wm if they wanna get rid of a couple of thier 50" plasma's for a few quid
