4 quid a week company car tax

as for the engine- im sure i saw a turbo on there when i looked

they aint turbo'ed are they

FUCK ME there slow for a tdci

they should have fitted the trany engine to imo 130ps 2.4 engine

as the ranger engine is slow,,,,,,,, but then its not ment to be fast and it still does 105mph before i decided its going a bit quick for it

biggest mistake of your life quick take back get a isuzu TF

ok right our problems on our olden that we got rid of

rear leaf-suspension always fecking breaking

really slow - we had to have it sorted out by ford to make it abit faster
un-economical only 26-8mpg
washer-bottle is way too small
it is so bouncy its untrue
and the handbrake is an umbrella
oh yea the standard battery is cack we ended up haveing a new one on.

does yours have a turbo on? cause i know a bloke with a non-turbo one and that is hellishly slow

we had a 52 reg. XLT it was soo bad i suppose just didnt have much get-up-and-go

oh yea the leafsprings- if you break one on ours it ended up being covered by warranty!!!!

we paid for the first one as we didn't know about the warranty cover

and the towing cap.!!! only 2.2 tonnes isn't it? we were always over-weight with a full cattle-trailer on the back

yeah forgot about the fuel economy on it,,,,,,,,,,, when i was using it to drive round the M25 doing store deliverys i was filling it up every second day

soooo true about the screenwash too

oh and the secret to filling the fuel quick is to pop the hole round the filler cap that the cap is held on with and it wont always click when filling it,,,,,,,, as you will spend alot of time filling with deisel

quiet? get on a motorway and at 70 its about knackered doing 3100 revs

the one without a turbo i said about is an x reg. if that helps?

how old is yours? and does the back seat make a clunk? when you go over a bouncy/speed bumped road with passengers on it

fuel economy is about what is quoted- which is about the same as what im was getting in the range rover- could be better but most 4x4's are thirsty

sorry i didnt read the x reg. bit at the top

its alright but just watch out about the leaf springs cause i remember us haveing a right job trying to sort it out so the springs would be replaced under warranty.
ended up doing 2k miles on one leaf and the others chattered so we cabled tied them together

what tyres have you got on it?

I hope it doesn't get stolen! We had a load of twin cab hilux's on fleet and they either got broken into or stolen and stripped by the local pikies!

cause we had some michelin 4x4 (50:50 on roadff-road) ones on at no extra cost. Just I was gonna say they were really good tyres.

ours was a farm truck and worked well,

get a tracker or something fitted then.

oh yea just thought of something else.

service interval - is it something like 4-6000 miles?
can't quite remember but it was quite regular for a car than does 12,000 miles a year.

also get a rattle sort of noise from the driveshaft if you manage to get grass rapped around it

no but really if your just having it to tow your car it should do you well

SOMETHING ELSE - FFS DON'T UNDO THE STRAPS ON THE TAILGATE AND LET IT GO DOWN!!!!!! or lift it back up without them on and forget.

the handle on it is straight inline with the towbar!!!!

i think we broke it about 3 times

even some of the best cars on here get slagged off from time to time so i’m really not worried (if i could afford a brand new range rover then i would but i cant and i'm not pretending i can), i'm happy with it and will keep it until i get bored - not everyone likes the same things

there was some useful info (will keep an eye on the rear springs) which was the reason for posting, and the reason i like this site so much

as for its speed- what do you think i have the cossy for

to go fast

and the reason you have the ranger is to TOW the cossie, not race it

std engine, t34 and greys- nothing special at the mo- but the rest is all rally spec- full cage, billys, adjustable front end, pectel etc so its got a lot of potential

I've borrowed one for a week and I found it quite nice to drive, was quiet and relaxing

Not expecting it to be fast cus its a bloody ramger and not an F150

As for fuel economy. when I was totting about with no extra loads on it was still getting a good 35mpg

The one I had thou was a looked after example and was the supercab.

Ginge drive any car fast enough overspeed humps they will take off

Still thinking of getting one now!

exactly-a case of ‘horses for courses’ fit fot the job intended rather than trying to cover all bases with the same car

so true about the speed humps- used to take off in me golf

Good tool, got severall at work... They DONT like being drive in 4x4 on the road (someone here killed a box).

The eleectronically controlled diff has issues too..

Oh and the wheel bearings go at the drop of a hat lol

Roundabouts are FUN in the wet too

People have said about them being bouncy, but only when empty, when there is a fair bit of weight in them they're fine

UPDATE:

i crashed the bosses one yesturday,,,,,,,, got out and there was a parking style dent in the chrome on the bumper and scratches on the grey lower bumper

the scorpio i hit rear quater is all pressed in and it a total write off

there big strong ox's,,,,,,,,,,,, shame the damage to the ranger is 750 quid and the scorpio is 500 quid as thats all th cars worth

stu i aint got a clue how you got good fuel economy out of one as they weight more than a ship and are 6 cylinder too i belive ( dont quote me though as ive never even opened the bonnet to fill the screen wash,,,,,,,,, thats what mechanics are for )

i do like em though,,,, shame ive been banned from driving it

i now got a old shitty 52 plate transit for a motor
