Need some for a non car related project and can't seem to find them anywhere.

Would it be for a bike as thats a common size used for the crank.

Try a good push bile shop

No, photography, but I made a mistake in my original post, it's 1/4" that I need, not 1/2"

Are you sure they are not 1/8th ?

1/4 x 20tpi is a british standard whitworth thread (BSW)

6.35mm x 1.27mm to us with a fancy posh tape measure

1/4" x 20 is also U.N.C (a.f spanner)
