Default Poly bushes ?

Thinking about poly bushing the S1 next winter.

Any views, is it a worth while upgrade ?

Use the car on the road mainly and the occasional track day.

Also which make, Deflex, Powerlex, seems to be a big difference in price but is there a difference in quality/performance ?

Colin.

I got deflex bushes in mine for 88 quid and it goes round corners on rails.Although i fitted a set of koni adjustables at the same time and that might help. You can feel everything the car is doing. It pees corners.

I was told of all of the poly-bushes, Superflex/ De-flex/ power flex etc, NOT to buy Deflex, can anybody explain why? I was only warned away from them, is it quality of inserts are they not stainless or life expectancy of the poly not very good or they are worse to fit than others? Anybody know, Zoo boys should know, they fit lots of them.

They don't come with stainless inserts as standard but you can ask for them at extra cost, its what I'll be doing anyways

personally i would avoid deflex, on a mk5/6 escort they are a complete c*nt to fit, especially if you dont have a 500 tonne press to hand.....

i have fitted one set to my cabby, they are ok at the mo, but the set i fitted to my mates car, he has had no end of trouble, he got through 2 ball joints in 1 month, fukked a suspensoin strut, done the inside edge of his 3 week old tyres, and why??

because the deflex bushes on the passenger side had siezed!

if i were to polybush the lower arms on my mk6, i will get superflex - they are powerflex bushes, but powerflex dont sell them, you have to buy through a distribtor.

for the mk5/6 escort they are Ł125 incuding VAT compared to deflex Ł55.

you get what you pay for!

without wanting to sound stoopid ooops I already do now

why would you want to put polybushes, I have heard of them but dont understand what they are or why you would have them

I've got a set of koni adjustables and springs on route, and so if these bushes are a smart move I might just get a set of them ordered aswell

Ta dudes,

SPUD
