Default INPUT REQUIRED. New Pic resizer trial.... PLEASE HELP.

We are now trialling a new picture resizer method but have our reservations at teh moment about its performance...

You can see clearly what it does here:
[IMG:1024:768:34f1548ae6]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/stu@mdevelopments/NYE05/IMG_0071Large.jpg[/img:34f1548ae6]

[IMG:1024:501:34f1548ae6]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/stu@mdevelopments/carshots/widemappingshotLarge.jpg[/img:34f1548ae6]

Please note it will ONLY work on NEW topics made as from NOW.

Let me know what you think please.

Ah the one we use gives a smaller thumbnail image that keeps to the max allowed width of the thread but gives option to click for full size.

Try this chaps:
https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2384176

61 pics on that page so it may allow us to measure a HEAVY topic and what it does to server load.

BTW peeps.. this does NOT adjust the file size, so we still dont want people posting 10meg pictures

PLEASE learn to resize the pictures BEFORE you upload them ,preferably to less than 25k and 640x480

Yes pal, its people who cant be arsed. I wouldnt mind but Photobucket itself even has a feature to do it for you and still peeps cant be arsed.

The otehr issue is dial up users have to wait an age for these huge files to load, all our resizer does is stop teh screen being ruined by massive pics, it cant stop em taking an hour to load cos they are physically to big data wise...

The best thing though is when you WANT or NEED a picture to stay large in size for people to viiew ie detail or writing .. you can with the resizer thing!! as they can just click on it to enlarge!

Great idea, works very well, one problem i noticed is, when you open the pic in a new window ater clicking on it, and then you enlarge it, you cant scroll down to see the bottom of it!
