Xbox 360 Hanging .... solution???
No idea on this one guys but spoke to a Microsoft support person last Monday and he asked me to change my system date/time to the correct items which I did and ever since I have had no system hangs???
anyone else confirm or deny this crazy idea?
Support guy never said it would fix it and DHL are on their way but I have had no problems since!!! My date was set to something or other in November 2005 I think

just normal game play.
I agree I can't see any reasoning for it either but it just seems weird that after changing the date I haven't had a problem. It could just be coincidence I suppose but its probably played at least 6/8 hours without freezing now.
The only other thing is that the guy asked me to play a DVD on it which we did no problem so since I have altered the clock and played a DVD no issues!
just don't know whether to send it back or not now??

common fault so i hear, overheating problem. raise it off floor so air can get all around unit (underneath etc) and keep it off carpets as the fibres hold the heat, also try using a fan to cool unit down and keep away from radiators.

system is on a wooden floor just about in the middle of the floor, only thing I haven't done is put it on stilts LOL!
I'm struggling with this overheating thing because when it was freezing the Xbox itself was only warm to the touch not at all hot, even the powerpack's not what I'd call hot.
Anyhow thanks for all your help, I'll give it another blast tonight and see what happens, might set the clock back again

This is the common problem that many Xbox 360 owners don't acknowledge that every other bugger seems to know about. Microsoft are supposed to be exchanging the faulty units directly.
I think I'll hold up and wait for the PS3
