Default The Series 1 is nearly there!

Over the last 2 weeks I have slowly been putting bits back on the S1 and trying to over come a few problems here and there. I came to a stand still ages ago due to one thing or another (mainly parts and having free time) and ended up employing Stu to build the engine. Stu came up with a few good ideas (secret of course ) things started making progress. 2 weeks ago I picked up the engine and bolted it to a Stage 2 PLUS gearbox supplied to me by CTS (Bernie) several weeks earlier and mounted them in the engine bay.

Finally got her running after several thousand problems and missing parts on Wednesday night. Ran the cam in etc etc. Found that due to several reasons that she ran like a sack of shit (KE-Jet).

I got cleaned up and let Stu know that it was a runner but ran like shite but also that I couldn't set it up 100% as I didn't have the equipment to do it properly and could only do it by ear.

On that note, Stu suggested he nipped round the following evening with his tackle in hand to give the old girl a once over in exchange for some KFC!!! Well that was an offer I couldn't refuse. So yesterday evening Stu turned up and we went straight round to the local KFC to pick up some bird. Stu couldn't wait to start munching on a good moist bird and soon made his way through 9 of them!! he was gagging for it so it seems!!! After he has eaten his bird, he set to in the garage and whipped his equipment out and stuck it in the hole, you know, the one in the down pipe for the sensor . After Stu had given her a good seeing to he was satisfied and withdrew his tackle and allowed it to cool off a little before covering it up and plunging it deep inside the box....the one he brought it in. Well after he had finished, the car was running better than ever and starts up instantly on the first turn of the key, even when cold.

Here is the engine going in....

Here is the car running....

Here is the man talking cameras with my Dad and his brother....like an RS convention on my drive way!!

Here it is outside running for the first time in 3 fooking years!!

The wheels look better in the flesh than they do in the pictures but they might not be staying......dunno yet.....they are the only 16" wheels I can fit over the 315mm brakes plus thereis enough clearence for 330mm discs if I so wis to upgrade....

I want to avoid 17" wheels to be honest...it might get a set of Compomotive MOs yet....

Lewes....take your rent boy bonnet and stick it up your asshole!

Pon! But it's a secret! I haven't really got an engine. It's a hollogram!!

Because I don't have a tendancy to drop thigs down the ports when working on vehicles......there was no foreign objects any where near the ports during instalation....care and attention is all that is needed.
