I've had an ATB from Bernie since september and it's coped with 530 brake with my GT30 without any dramas, did 'Coombe and gave it a proper spanking and it behaved brilliantly, do-nuts no probs, who ever said they don't do them must be dreaming. Did the Daddy thrash with GT35R circa 610 brake, still no problems ( wish I could say the same for the engine )
The ATB is maintenance free once fitted, the Gripper will need to be stripped and serviced, new plates ect.
Ade.

Drifting needs a plated diff (not a 1-way tho, 1.5 or 2way, depending on how you like it, but if you not experienced you wont know how you like it yet) or a welded solid one.
Unless you got money to burn id personally just get a welded one, esp as your just starting up.
Unless youve sorted out the Sierra steering lock issues that will be a problem WAY before the diff is.
Its a problem on my S13 already and thats got loads more lock, and im shit sill
But the welded diff is no prob at all.

You really think anyone else here gonna help him?
Or shall we just let him waste 500quid or whatever on an ATB diff that will be totally useless to him?

Thanx for the advice Steve, you're right ive spent to much on it already so i dont need to waste anymore. the reason i wanted to know what is what is cos i dont want to do it twice. Im already on the steering lock problem should be sorted v. soon . Hows the gtr coming on, had 3 o'they and theyre lovely cars but i just got bored cos i found they drove themselves( well at my standard of driving they do). Decided to have ago at drifting so i thought id build a 3dr just to be different. Old man wants me to rally his group4 mk2 escort next year but id rather learn to drift so im just trying to get the bloody thing finished asap

Want it like this...
I know how all the above was done (roughly, and was all done in slightly different ways), but would be v.v.interested in how its done on a Sierra, and if the inner arch etc etc would be good to be modded etc too...
How much lock? (in degrees or just rough guess going by them pics do you get mark?
Got a pic of your car on full lock I can see?
