cause the brakes are pants they require harder pushing to stop

needs a little extra servo or more surface area on the pads perhaps

either way they wear quck and feel crap imo

thats the only issue after the worst one being seat adjustment

Ginge, stop trying to sell the man something he obviously doesn't want!

Are you sure the brakes are shit, and that they are not "over servo'd" like most other cars? My Transit doesn't have the sharpest of brakes but it is progressive response to the pedal.

Arn't the ST brakes 300mm discs as standard?

daz i think its there too under servo'ed tbh

and i also find the transit brakes shite and i always trigger the fuking ABS on em

the transit connect and the old shape focus tdci has the best feeling brakes

good job too as from next week ive got a transit connect to smoke about in

daz being a proper techy person and not a ford tech ( ) can you tell me ifyou have the 2push syndrome on the transit brakes

you push em 1once and it dont seem to brake well and then you lift off and push again and they work sharp

ive driven about 15 different transits, maybe more and i have found that on all of em

then when ya brake to sharp you get that grinding feel in the pedal

so tiff they not as bad a a transit

It's because the vasy majority of other vehicles are over servo'd and the general public are used to this that people will think that they are under servo'd. My car has 315mm AP's, I really should get rid of the servo as it is over servo'd despite having a progressive pedal response.

The ABS is triggering because you're locking up a back wheel. Get some weight in the van and then see what happens.

Can't comment really. The last Focus I drove was about 5 years ago, and the only Connect on fleet here I have never driven. The driver complains it's shit slow though (we bought him the poverty spec engine).

Well I can't say I have noticed the difference in sharpness although my van's brakes have been getting sharper (it's only done 4k) just on the first press of the pedal. I have noticed the grinding feel through the pedal although I have only ever had it occour when cornering and having to brake at the same time. Due to this fact, I put it down to the ABS working on one wheel as the van leans over in the bend.

It IS a Renault Spastic.

I don't have any complaints about the way my van drives to be honest. I like it. It's a little lively to say the least in corners....
