Default Some People Really dont have a clue!?

I gotta say, I am a huge Ford fan, Love Cosworths and one day wish to own a big power EsCos. I was just on Rod Tarry's site looking at his amazing car, and I went into the "Guestbook" part,

http://www.geocities.com/rtarry_uk/

after reading the usual well done and all that there seemed to be some really stupid comments?? things like:

bet your not as fast as the tech designs imprezza! hes got 450bhp and 50 shot of noz nothing pulls like that ive been in it does 60 in 3.2
now, fairplay you get the odd Ferrari owner that would be like "never thought a Ford would do that" but you serioulsy have to wonder about the impreza comment, I mean I am all for the rivalry between Ford and Jap cars cos its what makes us strive to our goals and I have total respect for Jap machines, but it is total BS when people think that it is cheaper to modify a Jap car than it is a Ford,

basically, Jap cars are all electronics, and cost loads to get big power out of, then you dont get high speed til you get super power. I know of a couple of 1000BHP+ Skylines that cant get over 205MPH so what is it with annoying nonces like that??? and the 3.2 to 60 comment was silly as well, the Reyland Cossie did it in 2.88 last I heard and Pat Dorans Fez (ok its rallycross but still) does it in 1.9ish!?

Well rant over LOL and Long live the COSWORTH!!!

Welcome to the world of the 19th October........Your a bit late, lol

Remember as your probably very supercar goggled that Rods car is only 2wd where the scooby + Pats is 4....

Many manage to give it the biggen to do 205mph+...Only the one who are either 1. Physco or 2. Big balled nutters decide to prove their remarks. Fair play to Mark + Rod for proving what they claimed the cossie was capable of!

I know I'm late to this SMIT, lol, but I'm relatively new to this site, didnt realise til earlier that Rod had gone Faster than 201.8!? lol

[/quote]i can think of one straight away that has less than a 1000hp and went faster than 205

Im not saying that they arent out there (is that street legal though?), but its just the fact that you can tell the guy who made the comment about that 450BHP scooby being oh so much faster is some jumped up chav, be fair, i mean what can a 450BHP scooby really do?? lol.

Gotta love an R34 big BHP Skyline though, in a deep metallic blue, MMMMmmmmmmm, still have an EsCos though.

Rods car has the same electronics as most Jap cars doing big power, ie an aftermarket ECU (autronic)

Its a great achievement, and anyone thinking a 450bhp scooby could come close is on crack probably, but its not and never will be the fastest car out there, Joel's viper is the king of that at the moment, and probably will be for a while!

you think a 450BHP scooby could come close to it? not the 3.2 - 60 i mean, cos there are a few cars in that power range close to that.
but Rods?

oh, I wasnt on about themanagement so much as the other gadets that the Japs fit in their cars, things that you dont neccersarily mean, saying that, on these big power cars you might need them to keep em on the road, lol. dunno myself own a 1.6 E-reg escort called rusty. Might be able to afford an XR3i soon though, student funds permitting.
btw Chip was reading something about you and that vauxhaul engine the other day, was thinking yeah but its a vauxhaul, but after some reseach it seems pretty sweet, what kinda power can you get out of em at top? the LS2 isit??

he uses different wheels front and back doesnt he?? i would imagine that he has the rear tyres slightly lower in pressure to get traction off the line, but im sure i will be corrected, lol.

He doesnt run low pressure to get off the line, because the start makes almost no difference, its not like the quarter, its all about how quickly you accelerate at the top end not at the start.

Bad start or good start is only going to make a few dozen metres difference to get to 100mph, add that extra few dozen metres on at the end when you are acclerating at 200mph+ and its covered in a tiny fraction of a second and equates to bugger all extra speed.

is that why on the quarter some cars can have slightly lower terminal speeds but still get slightly fatser times?

The time you get on a quarter is largely about the start you make.

The terminal is laregely about power to weight.

Take a car that can do a 120mph quarter in 12.5 seconds and get a crap start and you will run a 14 maybe, but probably still get 118mph

So when all you care about is the terminal speed, the start isnt a big deal, espeically over 1.5 miles or more.

February as far as i know mate, but its going to be weather dependant i should think, as 200mph+ in the wrong conditions when you need to stop in such a short distance isnt a great idea!

Havent tried it myself, but would imagine that standard on the anchors really hard at that speed and hoping you have judged it right is pretty good for an adrenaline rush!

lol.
lookin at that website, there are some complete twats about aint there
lol
why would you even go on there to write
'so what the ND EVO would make you look like your in reverse'

so!? the ND evo sees the road maybe once every 2 months?? ( i dont know that of course)
ive only ever seen/heard it on the road once, and i live 1/2 mile from ND.
Rods is a daily road car with full interior(isnt it!?). and thats just for starters lol?

i think in that guest book it is quite obvious who the people are,
that know what they are talking about! lol

If you look at all the ferraris at terminal velocity last year, its doing more than mix it with them in terms of acceleration to 200+ it utterly wiped the floor with them all.
