Default Need a decent towcar - Suggestions please

Righto, the car I have used for the last 15 years is on its last legs (my Dads Volvo 240) so I need to get something to replace it. It needs abit of go but cant cost a lot. I was after a Volvo 850 2.5 or a T5 but to get one under 150K for reasonable money doesnt seem possible. My mate has had a few Jeeps in his time and I have been looking at Cherokee's and Grand Cherokee's, they seem good value. Any opinions?

Also forgot to say, it must be an estate.

Stay well away from Jeeps

I had a 4.0l Grand Cherokee on the Y Never had anything so thirsty returning such poor performance & the design is so old underneath the steering is a joke

Did see a Volvo 850 T5 in the midlands auto trader for about £3750 this week
Not sure of miles though- looked like fun

What do you want to tow ??

hmmm

Omega would be my choice i think, although the petrols are a bit thirsty, disco 2 is a very nice truck and pretty much bullet proof, unless the oil pump sprocket falls off of course!. shoguns, very capable machines although be prepared come mot time to pay up for new brake/fuel pipes.
Jeep's, personally i love them, they're a bit of fun in the wet but do have a drink problem as has been mentioned, yup they are mega basic underneath but less to go wrong.

how much you wanna spend really?
