Default i Pod problems

I got a ipod shuffle for Christmas, I would of thought being that it is the basic model then it wouldn;t of been so hard to get working

basically I'm struggling to get music onto the ipod, I'm quite sure I have all my music on there because if I click "MY IPOD" on i tnes it lists all my music that I expected to have got on there,

problem is that I get no sound through the headphones ? and without a screen on the ipod u cant tell what is actually on it ?

Is there any way I can read what is on the ipod ? or has anyone else had a similar problems?

is there possibly a good link for instructions on how to get the bloody thing to work !

thanks all !

my dad got one for xmas too. Make sure they are proper sound files and not just 1 or 2kb in size. They are usually a few meg. You have to add then songs to your playlist first, and click "autofill" and it puts them onto your ipod.

thanks

I'll have another go with it later, was seriously losing my patience with it last night, 700 meg of music ready to go on but doesn't seem to work right.

It did spend ages lastnight uploading the records one by one which I thought was when it was copying them to the Ipod but it never worked ?

quite sure that was when i pressed the autofill button but it doesn't seem to do much now except when i edit the playlist then it "updates ipod" as if it has already copied all the music onto he ipod

if they are cd's i think you need to upload them and convert them to your library. Takes about 10mins per cd.
