I came across this when searching for pics of John Welch the other day. Its an entry list for 1989 at Brands. Nothing remarkable but it includes my mate Richard Hutton, who up until recently was the youngest ever entrant in European Rallycross at the time. I used to be a spannerman for him for a while so got to meet all the drivers. I remember making Martin Schanche a cup of tea in the motorhome and having a discussion about global warming of all things. Richard Hutton was the first GrpN European rallycross Champion back in 94' 95 ish cant remember which.

I found in my loft a program to the British Rally-X GP for 1989. The 1st Rally-X event I ever attended. It was a real shame because all I go to see were some practice laps before the event was fogged off!. There were loads of cars in many classes back then but just look at the Supercar entry list.

Used to go to rallycross all the time in the 80's.Mainly at Lydden and Brands.Awesome cars.Remember Matti Alamaki's Lancia s4,was the most awesome car i ever heard.Think it was supercharged and turbocharged.
Did Richard Hutton get nicked with his old man at a meeting once.Seems to ring a bell

I knew John Welch quite well. He owned a bodyshop/accident repair place at Fleet in Hampshire (next to his house). He painted my Gartrac 4 x 4 Escort (2.8 V6 Turbo Technics engine)
