Default Cosworth Boost

Fitted my boost gauge today into my car and its running at 1bar on a stage1 so is this about right for it?? Any help would be great!

Cheers mate thats what i like to hear!! It was running at 0.7bar but i turned it up to 1bar. I know its hard to say without putting the car on the rollers but how much bhp should it be?

cossy chris without meaning to offend ect, if the boost was at .7bar,,,,,

why did you touch it, the tuners that set your car up set it for the correct boost levels, changing it cause another mate has more on his seems a bad idea

you might have a lower boost level cause the engine is more efficent and cosuming more air than your mates hence the boost, you might have a boost leak AT your boost gauge, i know a mate whos boost was set up with a leaking boost gauge, he never knew and must admit that was one fucking quick stage 1

when he lost all boost we checked the gauge and the reconected it as the gauge had disconected he was actually running 27psi , the guage was giving a false reading

so my advice is dont touch unless you can check the fueling to confirm

.....a genuine 260BHP if its healthy and assuming its a Saff and not an Escos which would be more like 275bhp.

...and of course assuming you are on a STAGE1 chip if you aint its bye bye engine! (well if you hold it flat out..LOL)

Should be okay.
I drove at stage1 with 1.1 to 1.2bar max, which went quite okay

(although an engine rebuild is now being done, not because of the 1.1/1.2 bar by the way)
