Any idea how open RAW-format in Photoshop, any upgrade/plugin I need to download?

Was quite into it all many years ago, and still have an Olympus OM SLR with various lenses and filters. (None of which fit this damn Canon )

I Just lost interest in it all once digital became affordable as film is just a drain of time and money in comparison. This 300D on first impression appears far more complex than a manual SLR, but im sure with practise it will become just as rewarding.

I bought a 350D a few weeks ago, great camera up until it completely died on me

Luckily it was under 30 days old so Jessops are giving me a full refund which I've just spent on a 400D
