Default Please Help... Advice

Im pretty new to all this so I need a bit of advice....

Looking at buying a 4wd Saphire Cosworth, 80 od thousand miles, leather, moonstone blue, standard apart from chip/exhaust/k&N and a LOT of stereo, 2 owners.

Problem is it has sat on someones drive for two years doing nothing, the body works very very good apart from needs slight repair to a door.

The guy said he wants 4k for it, i think its worth more like 3k (and think i can get it for that) . . . . would it be worth it? and what should i look out for with a car thats been sat there for that long?

Any help please?

Thanks

Pete

If its been sat. ALWAYS ALWAYS check out the underneath. An old RS of mine was clean as hell on top but a grotter underneath cos it had sat for a while

Peter. Take a look in Cars for Sale section. There are two cheap cossies in there.

One here for example.

Its a H-plate.

I think i will hear it start from cold and give it a massive check over underneath, it looks really clean and straight and has obviously been (previously) looked after

Thanks for all your responses

Default water traps

check all the places where the water collects. door seals, bonnet, boot and window seals... sounds obvious... but pull the door seals off if ya can. and if you see rot, knock the bugger down a peg or two.

Cossies eat money like it is for free
I bought a cossie that had been standing for 18 months from my dad and it had a freshly built engine, with the re-spray and colour change as well as wheels, tyres, new turbo, exhaust and cosmetic stuff I blew Ł4000 on top of the price of buying the car REAL TEARS
Paint job here

https://passionford.com/forum/viewto...er=asc&start=0

When I came to sell it I only got Ł4600

Spend your money on one that some other poor bastard has done all the work on rather than taking on more expense trying to get a cheap deal
