Default can too low plug gaps cause cossies to misfire?

i have an ongoing missing problem with my car but ive been too busy lately with a house move to sort it completely. Car now has new rotor arm, dizzy cap, leads and GpA coil. Coil was recently changed because plug gaps were really low with a poor spark. I havent regapped the plugs yet and car still misses. It kinda stutters stops and starts. Can too low plug gaps cause problems? when on full throttle it feels like car has lost power then back off and on throttle gently and its fine.

grrr

any help appreciated

yep if they are too small, then they may not have enough spark to actually ignite all teh mixture causing a lack in power,,,,
