Default Drink driving - look at this

If you ever needed another reason not to do it then hopefully the above will deter you.

Shocking results to be honest and actually makes me wonder if drinking two pints then driving, which is technically legal, is actually worth it....

I REALLY don't see the point of a couple of pints then driving....really And not everyone can have as much as that to be over the limit everyone is different to a degree. I personally never drink at all if I know I'm driving...I value my life/license and the safety of others....that's my view.

Shit mate, that's fookin terrible

Did you sue the taxi driver?

Adam, I really see no effect from 2 pints. I always drink Shandy when driving so I'm only taking it on at half a pint's worth a time and it's not a sudden intake of the 2 pints, which would hit harder.

I would be mortified tho if I ever hit anyone

The plod saw me come out of a pub and get in a car one time and followed and breathalysed me. I got a green light

we extorted 120k out of the taxi drivers insurence company, that covered the banrupsy, morgage payments, and other arrears, left me dad with about 20k, bought himself that bmw he has 6 years ago, and has tied the rest up in investments for safety

I'm the same... why drink at all if you know you're going to drive? Just drink soft drinks!

Interesting article. Especially as it gave specifics about how many units of alcohol it took to reach/near the legal limit. Not seen that before.

How do you mean?

Surely it's a percentage of alcohol in the blood, so it's EXACTLY the same for everyone.

If you mean how people absorb it/are affected by it, then that's a different matter........ although still not argueable.

Maybe what he means is if my body contains 9 pints of blood, and yours contains 10 pints of blood (for example), then I would become over the limit with a lower quantity of alcohol than you?

(Haven't a clue if thats how the human body works, mind!)

Edit: re-typed - I think I know what I mean!!

I too know the grief it can cause. My mother was run over by a drunk driver, in a borrowed car, un insured, outside our house waiting at the bus stop opposite on XMAS EVE `94.
She suffered broken arms, (one severed severely), cut legs, head and side, she needed skin grafts and plates in her arms and only regained some use of her fingers 3yrs later!!!

It is deverstating, the driver got community service after fleeing the scene and having a drink when he got home

Anybody I know that drink drives gets reported, Im making a fortune and protecting lives at the same time. Do the same

Merry xmas everybody.

Mr C - do crimestoppers still give out 50 quid rewards for shopping a drunk driver?

no ad is correct.....if two people drink exactly the same amount they won't get exactly the same results in a breath test.
some people can drink 1 pint and be over the limit, others can have 2/3.
