Default new pc

gonna build one after christmas

my old ones shagged so gonna build myself a shiny new machine

what spec shall i go for given i know nothing about current pcs

not really gonna use it for gaming initially, need to use it for internet, my ipod, music etc, just want to be reliable as my old one crashed all the time

what spec do people have on here

just really asking for advice on what processor and motherboard to go for, all the rest is pretty straightforward

cheers

Just upgraded mine, took 2 months to get it right!

AMD 3200+
1.5ghz RAM
160GB HDD
Nvidia 7800GTX (256mb)
DVD writer + another DVD drive.
TV Tuner.

Pleased with it now as its faster and the graphics are amazing!

i have an agp ATI 9800Pro 128mb gfx card for sale.

if you dont wanna play games, then just buy the cheap components, the lowest spec out there will still more than satisfy you.

games oare a different ballgame tho, you need to spend at least 1k to get a proper system
