Ive just bought an escort cos with water injection fitted. I dont know much at all about water injection so wondered if anyone could answer a few, possibly stupid, questions I have please.
Does it actually give more power or is it just used to be safer for the engine/turbo?
Do I just top it up with tap water or do i have to use de-ionised water or something?
Thanks, Rich.

Depends what its set-up to do will depend on the effect.
But on cossies its 99% of time setup to come on purely if charge temps go over 40degrees, ie compensating for when the intercooler cant cope.
Up to you what you use, but pure water or 50/50 water/methanol (or isopropanol, etc) is the general ways to do it.
