To be honest I dont know what I want or what im buying her yet. I noticed some people tend to get a lot of different things, someone posted above they are getting an xbox 360 and sat nav for there car and on other threads like five or six big items ie.. Ł100`s each.

Do people really spend this amount of money or is it just internet bravado talking, because my family or friends dont do it. We are not poor or anything like that.

I like to spend the money on going away on holidays and trips instead so was thinking of maybe doing something along these lines.

No idea what he's bringing me, anything I wanted i've bought myself this year much to my parents annoyance.
TBH they had to put up with me living under their roof for 2 months so it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if I dont get anything.

Pretty sure my little sister has got me the Sharon Osbourne book which im looking forward to reading.

TonyK, my family do one of two things, either buy one bigish pressie (worth around Ł100 - Ł150) and a couple of smaller cheaper presents to go with it, or we do lots of smaller pressies to around the same value.
Outside the immediate family is limited to about Ł20 a head tho.

Claire what your family does is very similar to ours. I like the socialising side of xmas better than the presents.

Indeed, Xmas has always been a big Family event for my lot, hasn't been quite the same since we lost our Grandparents, but we try and keep to tradition as much as possible by making sure no matter what else is going on, we're all together Christmas Day.

Its also my best friends birthday on Xmas day, so I get to spend a bit of time with her and her family too, always a great atmosphere
