ive never had this and mines usually on 24/7 downloading, never had any issues with pipes, signed up for 512 adsl in early 2003, has been perfect service and was recently upgraded to 1mb for free. cant complain. probably pricey thesedays at £23.50 per month though
I got a email from pipex (now deleated) saying I was one of the top 2% heavy users and told me if I dont reduce my useage at peak times (6pm to 12am I think) then they would be "managing" my account! Basically capping my useage between peak times!

I am with NTL! I download stupid amounts and they have not said anything on their 10mb service which is great!

I have heard that they are going to be uncapping their 1 and 2mb services, may be worth going for one of those if you can get it in yuor area?

No restrictions?

That's got to be the funniest thing I've heard this week, thanks for the amusing cheer-up!

PlusNet have, in the past six months, moved the goalposts so many times, hardly any of their customers know what's going on. They have a sustainable-usage policy (ie. download caps), so the claim of no restrictions is wrong (despite the fact their OWN STAFF will tell you otherwise). If you go over these restrictions, they'll slow your line down to slower than a dial-up connection (it's been done to a few people, and confirmed, so it will happen). They even checked back in the traffic-logs for the three months BEFORE that policy was introduced, and punished customers retrospectively......that's like changing a speed-limit on a certain dual-carriageway from 70mph to 40mph, then punishing people who drove at 41-70mph on that stretch during the three months beforehand!

And now for the second claim: no ties!

If you join them, and take up the "deferred activation costs", you have to stay with them for FIVE YEARS, or else they'll charge you to leave.

Sorry, but have to ask, do you work for PlusNet, by any chance?
