Default Were Small turbo Ecos's available in motorsport shells?

I was under the impression it was only the Large turbo version that was available in motorsport trim?

Is this correct?

My Escos is a very late shell one of the last on a P plate...its a 909 motorsport one....it has the side impact doors and the fuel filler behind a flap and no sunroof....which leads me to beleive its a small turbo type motorsport shell.

phil, your shell is prob one of the last batch that ford produced and hence had fuller flap and impact bars. lets have the rest of the 909 number and we will see...

...not gonna say that as your getting personal!

Its Ford Escort Cosworth on logbook...does not say built from parts like most!

On the chassis number it comes up 1990 But thats good as i dont ever need a CAT for MOT!!!....Apparently DVLA gave the chassis number out and is all above board as i checked!!!!

What are your thoughts Martin?

so you've blabbed on and on about not having a sunroof.. purely i imagine for weight reduction. as personally .. for a road car .. which it IS.. a sunroof is essential!

and you have bulky heay side impact protection bars!

Dave... owner of a factory built escort cosworth LUX with electric sunroof and NO heavy pointless side protection bars!

if i had the choice between air con and a moon roof then i would take air con everytime. i would not say the side impact bars are useless for a road car either!

But only as a trimmed shell according to his 909 part number, i thought you said! And with his 1990 chassis number its stil not conclusive they came out of the show room as road cars like the large turbo versions, or just available as shells for motorsport!

Could you get the motorsport versions in any colour or just white?

Basically some one is trading in an Ecos on a porshe tomorrow at my mates garage and its late small turbo, not white and he was concerned its been shelled or built up from parts as its no sunroof!

DAZ C No stil no relay!

lol - all this 'sunroof' shit - who the fook puts a sunroof in a motorsport car

oh yeh - ford did for the lesser 'road' versions

im sorry but motorsport shells dont have sunroofs - and im with martin on this - most factory options related to sunroofs are either - ' sunroof or aircon' - aircon would win all day long - sunroofs suck !!!!

no, a 909 shell is a shell not a car made complete and sold by ford. the motorsport ones were available in colours other than white. i have a guy that owns a petrol blue small turbo car and that's a motorsport version.

Exactily, motorsport shells don't have sunroofs the aircon option was not available on the motorsport version only the lux version!

All non motorsport versions came with sunroofs, electric as option from 94 onwards but had the option of aircon, therefore all Escort Cosworths with aircon should have sunroofs, unless they have been reshelled of course!

That came from the Ford Escort Cosworth buying brouchure along with this Motorsport model available in Diamond white only, which answers my original question, if it ain't white and has no sun roof, its been shelled or had full respray!
