Default Water-proofing and car problems>

yes im back with another problem, why is the water proofing on my mk3 fezza 1.6s so shit, even when going through a small puddle the lights dim and it misses for a few mins some times, when flying into a massive puddle (lake) last night by accident, car got me home no problem but wouldn't start this morning, i take it its just water getting into the breakerless ignition system or could it be getting in other places. and anyway ways of water proofing these since i don't want to tape up the connection on the ignition module since i disconnect it every now and then.

P.S i try putting wd-40 ect in the connections but it isn't no good i usally have to wait a few days for the water to dry out witch i fooking anoying, and it doesn't even start now so it will take ages this time of year to dry .
