Default FAO all Cossie ECU/wiring loom gods.. Daz, Simon@SECS etc???

Right I am trying to get someone to plug their Diagnostic equipment onto my ABS. I still have the actual abs diagnostic plug by the battery

But because I have removed my old ECU/Engine loom and installed a Pectel item, I no longer have a plug which the computer needs... As a result when the diag equipment asks for IGN to be turned on/off etc, it doesnt respond....

SOOooooo my thinking was to dummy fit the old diagnostics plug somehow, now this is my Q...

On the ECU (old loom) the following relates to the diag plug I need to "retro" fit...

Pin 8 - Electronic control loom (blue/white)

Pin 27 - Electronic control loom (blue/yellow)

Pin 11 - Map sensor (shielded) and link to common connection* (brown/green)

*Pin 11 (brown/green) connects to the following....
Electronic control loom
Coolant temp sensor
Throttle pot sensor
Aircharge temp sensor

Am I right to assume, pin 11 (brown with green trace) is some kind of switched earth?? i.e when the ecu is switched on via IGN it supplys an earth to the sensors listed above??

As I'm guessing this is how the diagnostic software/computer knows the IGN has been turned on/off??

pin 27 and 11... What happens there? are they simply diagnostics wires from the ECU and relate to the ECU only? they dont suppply an IGN live or anything do they??

what does the abs diagnostic equipment need? surely only a switched 12V power supply? if so, just connect direct to battery (via a small fuse).

but maybe it needs a 5v signal, as is used to supply MAP sensor etc?

Exactly.... personally I think it may be a switched earth... do you know what the Brown/green wire is? to the Map sensor?

AS Dave above has said.

If you get stuck, I can lend you a diagnostic tester for this as I used to
work for a company that made them (Crypton)

Ive got a "datacheck" 100 and 200 thing they list the Teves system, do you know if they are compatible?

Why have 2 or three people refered to the ABS diag plug being by the battery? what is that for then?

Datacheck 200 is not compatible with Cossie ABS Damo.

I don't think I have wiring diagrams for the Cossie ABS.....

Pin 11 is a common 5v reference supply to all the sensors IIRC.

I am not sure what the electronic control loom does to be 100% honest. It may be for code reading, octane adjust (although I think there is a seperate socket for this) or for resetting the ECU.

Ah right so its a 5 V supply, not an earth thanks Daz...

I reckon the electronic control loom is diagnostics for engine ecu as you say, there is another plug for "adjustments" with Black wires..

Now I am intruiged as to what the OTHER plug is for by the battery???

Its still there so isnt attatched to the engine ecu ??

Damo, I am just going off the top of my head so it may be a common 5v supply to each sensor and each sensor has it's own monitored "earth" or it might be a common earth and each sensor has it's own monitored 5v supply if you understand. I can't remember which way round it is.

Black wires on a Ford is usually an ignition feed?!

If it was for ignition adjust, it would have to connect to the ECU.
