Default T34 Turbo Help

guys,

Since having my 4x4 saff back from karl he has told me the turbo is on the way out and i need a new one. The current turbo is a hybrid T3 and i want to buy a T34. Would A T34 with a 0.63 exhaust housing fit my car at the moment?

can anyone help???

oh and to answer your question yes it will go straight on, you will probably need a new air filter to turbo pipe due to the bigger inlet, and also if it's not brand new and off a 2wd car you need to rotate the housing to suit your manifold

TOTALLY depends what you want out of the car

.55 will be punchy

.63 will be strong at high speed

Both are good though

My experience has been

.48 = punchy

.63 = strong top end

.55 = wooly middle ground

There IS a difference, but its not really a massive difference, i bet your average (not mega familiar with cossies) enthusiast could drive a car with a .55 one day and a .63 the next and not really notice the difference.

Its a new map, but with the intimate knowlege Karl now has of your engine and what he will have gleened about its VE form how it responded to boost from the T3 etc (whihc will give him a feel for what cams and head mods it has) and with his experience with different turbos etc, i bet he can get it pretty close without even seeing the car!

So its not going to be as bad as starting from scratch, but its still going to mean changes to a large number of load sites, in fact almost all of them!

What experience is that then...a ride in a car with those housings or guesswork?

I have had a .48...cracking lo lag conversion but runs out of puff too quick for me

..my current .63 is quite laggy in comparison but revs well

I think and i have NOT tried a .55 but that would be the BEST turbo to go for...i think Rainbird had one and was well happy

Si B on here has a .55, its basically exaclty what you would expect, ie somewhere between the other two.

Depends on what you are using the car for wether its "the BEST turbo to go for" IMHO
