Steve,
If it was my car, I would stick with the standard cams . No point in changing UNLESS you go for one that is going to work with your spec (and as you won't go internal at this stage - stick with standard).

I would suspect that you are confused, as it has a wild inlet and mild exhaust cam? This is to help keep the gasses inside the engine for improved response, as the T4 is a lag monster.

The head has if my measurements are correct a BD16 inlet cam and a BD8(standard) exhaust cam. The owner of the head says they have a dyno graph somewhere showing the peak power over 540Bhp using this head.

I would imagine that the dyno sheet will be quite old, as 540bhp "used" to be achievable on the old 98RON fuel when benzine was used as an additive. Now that we have shonky crap that they try to pass off as fuel , you can't run as much ignition anymore and the limit is around 520bhp with the T4. If it is one of Nick Waples heads, then with the correct turbo, cams and c/r, almost 600bhp should be achievable. However, without knowing how good the head is (you would need it bench-flowed), I can only give this as my best guess.
My own engine made 515.4bhp with the same cams as you and did a proven 180+mph (repeatedly).

Have to say I was surprised to see an off the shelf Inlet cam in there and a standard exhaust cam. I thought I would find some one off 'magic' tuner cams in it - which is what I think the owner of the head thinks they paid for!

Interesting.......
So does that mean Piper were not too far from the truth when they told me the most popular config of there's was a BD14 inlet and a BD10 exhaust???
