barkston refinishing in grantham, lincs...

will cost 2-3k but you will see why once the works done, it is absolutely immaculate, like a brand new car...

he does classic car restorations, and is well known in the classic scene.

I did a driving experience earlier this year in Northampton that sometimes offered sponsorship to the driver of the day, if you think you've got the moves it should be a great way to fast track into ameture racing. Unfortunately I wasn't the driver of the day lol so I've since given up on my dream... Going to jump out of a plane instead!

but if your interested in giving it a go i'd reccommend it! it's called the 'Rally Quest' on www.trackdays.co.uk

I'd vote for Phil Price, I done it for my birthday last year and it was a amazing day out, hardly ever sitting around, if your not out learning to drive the Mk2's your out in the Subaru driving over the proper rally stage he has.

At the end of the day Phil takes you out in either the Escort or Subaru (Group A car) flat out around the rally stage that is used by the top motorsport teams its insane ! After that you will all get to compete against the clock in a Mk2 round the lower stage to see who is fastest.

I don't know what the costs were as it was a gift but its well worth doing, anyone I have spoken to who has been to others couldn't believe the amount of time we spent driving.

Whilst your there ask him to show you the build of the 4x4 Mk3 Escort he had back in the 80's !! Not only can he drive but he certainly knows how to build a proper car too

Another vote for Phil for me as well. The amount of seat time you get is brilliant. When i went I drove the Scooby and he went back at the end of the day after everyone left and got his RWD ESCosy and i also go to drive that.

Also, when i went Auto Express went with there and took loads of photos and again voted his rally school the best one to go to.

mate did a red later day one, was a bit poor. He did a bit of go karting first, then drove an evo up a straight track and back down, then drove a dihasu thing over a bit of dirt a couple of times and that was it.

I wasn't impressed to be honest. Do check that your getting something of an experience as he could have got more out of a test drive from a mitsi dealer lol!!!

It probably was a test drive lol, the one at Silverstone park is fantastic though, a proper rally course with hands on rally instructors
