Default Car is holding back on throttle - (Mk1 Clio 1.1)

My run about seems to be holding back/lacking power recently. First of all i thought it was the cold but even when driven for an hour its still holding back when you put your foot down. My first thought is plugs, can anyone confirm this? It runs spot on, no miss fire or anything like that. Just feels sluggish and under power a certain revs and gears. Not fuel injection btw and its recently been serviced (but the plugs where not changed)

Cheers,
dan

Just got back home after driving 35 miles. It drives nice and smothe, not stuttering but its deffo holding back. For example i go the same way to work every day and there is quite a steep slope i have to go up. I've always taken it in 2nd gear no problems, but today i had to down shift to first... weird

I know its no rs turbo, but it used to go a fair bit quicker! just seems to have lost "performance" over the last few days.

Thanks Daz, if the plugs dont cure it i'll try the other bits. Cant be anything to serious as it starts and runs sweet as a nut.
