Could we have the at wheel figures, as the flywheel figure at this particular rolling road are a complete load of bollocks ?

The reason I know this, is that I have a flywheel graph for my Escort on it's original light blues spec, where it allegedly made 402bhp on a held of 17psi . They also claimed it lost 125bhp through the transmission .

Even despite this exaggeration, I would say it is a true 600bhp car , which is no mean feat !

That's abolsolutely stunning!!! But why do you need 200bhp more when it make's near as damm it 700bhp Will the transmission take anymore Best of luck though Would be really cool to see both yours and Rod's car pass 200mph without nitrous just to prove it is possible for the purists

Does anyone actually know whether Phil can even drive let alone ever owned a Cosworth, I have the funnyiest feeling that Phil is actually just a spotty teenager stuck behind a keyboard with an over active imagination!!

The car is mapped for 97 SUL so why people keep commenting on optimax is beyond me.

So wheres the wheel power graph for something slightly comparable?

Do cars usually make peak torque at peak boost?

Because you keep saying "me and Daz only run SUL 97Ron", when Daz has already said on the other thread he runs Optimax. Just clarifying, not having a pop.

Bill,

That may be what daz puts in it but when Ive mapped it I use Texaco 97SUL.

Martin,

I don't have the PAW graph so I will speak to Daz and see if we can post up figures.

Martin, believe it or not its on full boost by 4500rpm but the RR operator had to feather the throttle until past 5000rpm to stop wheel spin. I have the graph showing boost against power here too and you can thus see how the boost is held back until after 5000rpm.

Party Pooper time..

If you look at the bottom of the Graph you will see Shoot _44 this means Transmission losses have been calculated as a 4x4 ( we use this R-R) hence very high flywheel figures. I asume Karl knows this & was playing us along. Also can Karl explain IT temps (into engine) @ 65 .
The atw should be over 600bhp if fly is near 700bhp. POST THEM.

Rod.
ps Get Daz to name the date & time i love kicking butt.

The massive recorded Inlet Temps would give a HUUUUUUUUUUGE correction figure for the figures. Perhaps the probe fell off and hit the turbo or something.

Why only have one race? Why not make it best of 3?

1: Top Speed challenge - Brunters, highest top speed wins
2: Track challenge - Castle Coombe, fastest lap time wins
3: 1/4 mile challenge - Santa Pod, fasted 1/4 mile time wins

Theres more to life than top speed and the space it can be achieved in....

Hello Rod,

The car was run in shoot_44 as it was impossible to run the car up in normal 2wd mode as even with the car tied down it was still climbing out of the rollers. Running in shoot_44 allowed a slower run up of power preventing wheelspin. The high ACT's were caused by progressive run ups and heat soak, and as Daz's engine bay is extremely tight the room for both the Ic and air flow is limited. On the road he normally sees up to around 50DegC which is not ideal but space prevents any further improvement.

Fantastic car, a real sleeper, i am sure you have loads of fun in it regardless of actual power,

Karl has this engine been on a Dyno and run up or fitted and then on the rollers for a power indication ?

That graph is off a set of rollers with a "calculated" flywheel figure mate
