Speed Camera Detectors - Which One ??
After going to Castle Combe yesterday, and about 3 camera cars, 2 plod wagons, and 3 bikes and numerous coppers inside, I shat my pants when they were telling me about the laser camera in the van I went past at 60 in a 50 zone, he was telling us about the laser guns and stuff - very interesting !!
Anyways, any of you blokes and lasses got a good idea which camera detector is good and bad etc etc, I had a Morpheous Geodesy for a while then sold it, but like the look of the Morpheous Road Pilot with Laser Pilot as an add on, I've been told the new Road Angel is good, but looks cack beside the Road Pilot on Looks.
Your experiences and advice on this subject will be greatly appreciated, as I'm sure each and everyone of us, would be interested. You'd almost think - whats the point in hjaving a fast car anymore ??
Any Ideas ??

Chasing Radders
I have just bought the Snooper S6-R Neo which is brilliant
Picks up all the static cameras, etc via GPS and will pick them up at a range a 1km. Tells you what road they are on, what speed you are doing and the speed that the camera will flash you Download all the info via the built in modem
Picks up all laser/mobile cameras and shows your speed via GPS.
Have a word with CossyMad off here for a good deal

Sounds good Tiff
Spoke to the copper at Combe yesterday, he said the laser guns are accurate to 999 metres, with a laser detector in the car, your only lucky is you pick up stray laser beams bouncing off a car in front, it takes 1.25 seconds to record your speed, no way could you deaccelerate in that time as a reaction time if the gun was pointing at you, whoops.
The Road Pilot Looks trick with the 3.5" screen.
I'll PM Cossymad an see what he can recommend, CheeRS

must say though it is the fooking bollocks and has never missed a camera in all the routes ive taken
oh and if anyone wants to know the m25 is fooking full of accident black spots ( ive since turned that off )
oh and dont bother about 1000metres warning if ya go central london as the fooker goes off in north london on any fooking street where i live ( but then islington has cameras all over, i pass 8 cameras on the way to work and 7 are within 2 miles
ive kept mine on 250 metres warning ( still drives me mad when i goe shopping )
fooking best thing i bought though, wish my computer wasnt so old

I've just aquired the Snooper S6-R neo (same as tiff)
top bit of kit very acurate but its got its faults. Mainly just little niggles that they could improve in the software but as a camera detector it does its job wel!

I had good results with the morpheous Geodesy, well impressed infact, used to go mental right by the camera, like just as you pass it, the Road Pilot looks and sounds quality, if the geodesy was to go by.
To be honest I've ordered a Road Pilot and Laser Pilot today, cost me Ł510 smackers mind you, hope its worth it !!
How does the Road Pilot update Dave ?

Just got a s6r-Neo. The thing is excellent for the fixed cameras i.e Gatso's & SPECS, but it goe's off ALL the time flashing K-BAND at me and it's beginning to get on my nerves! I think it's picking up the electric door sensors at shops, but saying that my mate has got one and he tells me it hardly ever goes off and is good as gold,(maybe i got a duff one )
I got mine for Ł300 at Costco in Lakeside, but don't forget you have to pay another Ł100 for the updates before you can use it
To sum up, love it for the Fixed cameras but it's forever going off for the 'Safety Cameras' any one else with one, please let me know if you are getting the same problem.

sounds a right shonky bit of kit mate, blimey, least you'll be OK if you was wearing it on your belt and wanted to be aware if someone opened a door into you!!, oh well, if its under warranty take it back surely.
Looked a bit small to me, or looked like a air freshener !!
Spose its down to personal opinion.

Mr Cossie I've noticed the same, problem is so much use the K band that its just doing its job. I find traffic lights tend to set if off. But my work around was to use the smart mute feature, so that its not beeping at u non stop unless u doing over 20mph
How do u find the backlight? Something that really annoys me is that if u set it to only come on on alerts it only lights up on GPS based alerts. If the RLD sets it off the light doesnt come on!!!
