Default Power cuts and routers

We had a power cut at home for a few hours this afternoon, and when it came back on the surge killed my work router.

Happily my own gear is surge-protected!!!!

I get power cuts and surges here quite regularly especially at some of our more tropical sites. Often they will just cause a power lock on the router so I can removed the power cable for 10 seconds or so, plug it back in and all is good. UPS with surge protection are worth their weight in gold IMO.
