Default FRAM oil filters, they any good for cossies?

Reason i ask is i can get them pretty cheap, and was wondering whether to stick with the Motorcraft one, or go for the FRAM one. Any info would be great.

I've used fram's for years, and are top notch, and never had a problem.

the fitter i work with worked in frams for 10 years, he said the only difference between a ford filter and a cheapo for motorfactors is the QA side of things,, i cant remember the numbers, but they examine one in 100 ford filters and 1-300 motorfactors units

ok, just been to get one, and looked in the book. Forgot that there was 2 lengths! DOH! anyway, picked up one of each and asked a few people off here who told me it was the short one for 2WD, but it was too late and i had already bought both. Is it safe to use the long one still?
