That MG was pretty quick - he was running Yoko AO32Rs but it was still
pretty well set up - going round Quarry like on rails - only in the wet did he seem to get any sideways action - wonder how much bhp/torque that V8 was putting out? Bet it is a deceptively quick car on the road.
Thanks to Dave Cos 4x4 for the entertainment as well!!

What sort of dream world is marco in i only passed him because he missed a gear !! What would be the reason i then pulled about 500 yards away from all four of the cossies ??

listen, i was up in front for ages right or wrong ??? for the first 2 laps....secondly i lost it which you know i did ... i had a big spin lost loads of time and speed and that was the corner just after the SS's ..you lot were cathing me up Tib, You the marled escort which steve was driving and the moonstone saff...as i was going up the right hand bend i was in 5th gear for atleast 5 seconds i thought the engine was fooked ....i even said to martin whats wrong with this ...anyway i was then playing catch up time ....i was stuck behind steve scott for ages then i finally pased him in the ss's after quarry...then i was making ground back then...
don't think that this is an excuse because if you want a proper race on castle comb i'll race you . ...i'm not affaird to race any car don't care what power or handling it has got ....and you seem to forget that i was on rd trys the cars is totally different on slicks ...so if your up for it ....when you on comb again i'll book on and me and you go out in the same line and have a race ...all in good nature ..

I'm not lynne it's just that you are sadly under-estimating me and my car ........ but what you can't see is when you loose a car you losse a load of speed.....simple as that and you know...... i'll give credit where credit is dew
Rob
i know you love the cossie's that why i would like to race you and you can see for yourself what my car is like ....without any fook ups
cheers marco

Lynne?? CC is a power Circuit. If Marco can get some grip with slicks, his 2WD car with more power should do more than hold its own. I saw the tyres that both cars were running yesterday, I think you will find thats where alot of Robs time advantage came from. Rob was faster yesterday but on the same rubber it would be pretty close I reckon and Marco would be FAR from 'Out of his depth'
and I certainly don't have RS goggles... OR blinkers

and thats not knocking nobody i always have an off on track everytime i go out but i still love tracks days to bitz ..... they are good fun ..

Porkie - still disagree I wouldn't have believed it myself if I hadn't gone out with Rob at Oulton. For a standard Sti only with a Ecutek. HKS exhaust and fuel pump, his lap times against big power cars, including cossies/evos/porsches/skylines et al was 6 secs faster per lap

BUT Combe IS A POWER circuit, more so now because they slowed it down with the chicanes. You need big brakes and grunt. eg Cossie.
I LOVE Scoobys, especially the newer ones and Robs car was certainly fast yesterday as they are great cars and he was pedalling it very well. BUT a well set up 400bhp RWD Cossie on slicks IS NOT going to be 'out of its depth' and the Scoob isn't 'in a class of its own' (both YOUR quotes)
Rob was on track Tyres, Marco wasn't. Rob was faster. The end.

Metro struggles around CC though!!!! YOU are proving my own point!!!!
Around a shorter and more technical circuit the Metro would be ALOT quicker comparitively than it is at Combe. Its light weight and excellent suspension set up AND SLICKS, let it carry HUGE speed through corners. And its traction and good power to weight ratio means it accelerates well from slowish corners BUT the long drags at Combe means it struggles because it runs out of puff!!!
Thanks
