Default Whats wrong with my RST?

Anyone shed some light?! Its a 1.6 EFi lump, standard except a 4x4 turbo, biege injectors, cossie cooler and chip. Running standrad oil breather black cylinder with an oil breather filter on the side of it. Held 16psi and was rapid...for about a week. Then...
-It spits its oil filler cap off under load
-It misfires under load.
since then also found white gunk on the oil filler cap ONLY, NOT the dipstick etc...
Uses a bit of water but not a lot
Also spark plug 3 appears to have oil on it whenever i take it out.
But doesnt smoke AT ALL under any circumstances.
So piston rings (shouldnt it smoke/burn oil), blocked oil breather or headgasket?
Iam seriosuly confused?! Just want it back to normal before the zetec goes in!

IMO you would need to have a cylinder compression check and leak check to try and find a fault before you start to tak any components apart.

Cheers Jambo/Dan and Jano for the advice. I will be doing the tests as soon as i get the time just wondered if anyone knew better for the time being!
Dan-no it doesnt over heat but have to keep an eye on its water consumption, and no oil is found with the water anywhere else.
Sounds like Jambo is on the right track, which actually aint good

similar with my turbo, done a compression test and No 1 was low.
Oil on plug 1, ran like a burst arse.
took out piston 1 for the rings to crumble apart and a crack inbetween the rings that when pushed left a nice hole

Good luck
