Thus, I'm not surprised to hear someone who's EsCos doesn't have a whale-tail ask "anyone else ever felt the back of an escos go lite?" shortly after losing the back end and stacking his car.
You okay with that PON?

Thanks again guys.... Stealth bomber, I know what your saying and i usually have it attached and before when i've come unstuck its been on there. I still don't think it would have saved the car due to the road conditions being quite bad...
Didn't help martin hadland on the gunball either.... (ok he was going slightly quicker than i was)

How am I talking nonesense? The whale-tail is there to provide downforce at the rear right?
Drive an EsCos without one and you will have less of this downforce.

shortly after losing the back end and stacking his car.

Hysterical comment about the whale tale - perhaps if he'd been doing another 50mph faster than he was the increase in downforce would have saved him but then again going that speed would have been fookin stoooopid!
Shame about the car dude - nothing that time and money won't fix tho

Upper spoiler is only effective over 100MPH ... I doubt he was going that fast ay

Gutted to see the car like that mate.
Least your ok though.
The downforce of the whale tail wouldn't have even begun to take effect at that speed.

Really sorry to see the car like this, Not least as Im due to renew my insurance in Jan
cant even begin to imagine how I would be feeling right now
All I will say is I suggest the insurance company WILL write it off (for a number of reasons)and IMO if they told me they wanted to repair it I would tell them to get stuffed... NO way would I want the car back if it was mine... Unless they made some kind of financial offer too
also I wouldnt expect it to be offered back to you too cheap... They wont give it away take anything you want ie sounds/extras etc off it now mate IMO
Out of interest who are you insured with?

I know what your going through.
My run about was shunted hard last week by a HGV whilst I was stationary. Had a write off offer from the insurance company already, which means I have only lost Ł100 in the 13 months I have owned it.
But its all the hassle of forms... phone calls... documents... finding a replacement vehicle etc thats all the stuff that does my head in
Good luck

Damo V, I'm insured with Highway (through HIC)... they seem very good so far and have delt with it quickly. i'll let you know how it goes with regards to them writing it off, i would like the car back but not holding my breath and it'd have to be cheap.

gutted for you. Glad you are okay though.
It's already been said about the spoiler, but why to 30+ ton artic's slip on ice with all the extra weight? No traction, i.e. ice, and it doesn't matter what you have on the car....
