Cut open the back box, stuff it and weld it back up again.

Or get a track day plug.

Another silencer in the system, factory airbox (as a LOT of the sound from turbo cars is induction noise!).

Hmmmmmm, I guess an Escos airbox might fit I can't put another box in the system. Will have to go on the tailpipe if anywhere.

What's a track day plug? Where do you get these things from?

Thanks

Erm, kinda hard to explain what it looks like. It slides into the exhaust tip and has like two baffles. Works quite well but sadly you can feel the power sap.

I recently had a larger center box put on my Prelude to make it quieter, cost about Ł80.

I was going to turn the boost down a bit anyway to around 20psi, but I didn't want anything to interfer with the map.

With a decibel meter. They test you standing still, and drive by.

Most people are ok and fly through the noise regs.

All T34 Cosworths will be okay UNLESS you have removed the centre box. If you have done this, then 1. How old are you . 2. It WILL fail at Bedford.

Thanks for the cheque, you are on the list, somewhere in the middle lol

I don't really want to buy another 3 inch Mongoose my original was expensive enough lol. I reckon clamping something on the tailpipe will be my best option. Will look wank though.

Mike - What about T34 RST's, do they pass?

http://www.autoaccessorystore.com/ho...=detail&id=437

but probably best of all is this....

http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_exh...=227&pageNum=1

It's like a kind of Throttle Body that goes inline in the Exhaust and is controlled from inside the car. We have fitted one of those and its quite neat. That guy wanted it to reduce exhaust noise while cruising, not sure what it would be like under Boost.

Like others have said though, it will sap lots of power.

The 3" Bore exhausts are normally silenced in the Tailpipe, but me and Tony both have 4" Outwardly rolled Tailpipes instead of the usual Inwardly rolled ones, which are unsilenced.

Yeah, I could cheat the static test, not much I can do on the drive by, unless I drive round slow all day, and what's the point in that

Looks like I am fucked if I don't sort something out. Hearing my car on the video at Brunters made me realise how loud my car is

Thanks for the links Mr C, will look at them later on. Any you can recommend?

the mongoose on my cossie aint that bad, the janspeed system on my cabrio ive just removed was quite bad though but the inner tailpipe fell out and the baffles all blew out of it too

ive since replaced it with a peco boxer exhaust and 4 brand manifold and tbh it sounds quieter
