Default any track bike peeps outhere

my uncle just bought a bike for the track and thought hmm wouldnt mind ago myself so ive been looking but how come so many come with no id at all to me that means there stolen as were talking about bikes only a few years old ? how can this be right

my mate at work has rs 250 that was a track bike, was gunna put it on the road, got all paperwork sorted, its 100%genuine but wants to go back on the track realyif anyone is interested, it is in road spec now.

it seems propper dodgy to me i mean if people started ebaying 3 doors,escort cossies etc etc as track cars but come with no id they would get shot down so how can you get away with it on bikes seems strange to me as there nearly all like this

arent there any id nr or such? when we scrutineer our bikes the chassisnr and id have to match otherwise you cant race

do you have to pay import tax or something like that fore motorbikes in the uk?in norway we have to pay import tax and vat to get a motorbike with license plates but if you want to go racing and trashing the bike around its not much meaning by putting plates on it.then you just pay the vat and get a recipte(?) for it. after that the bike must be registered at an motorcycle racing register.that is a FIM regulation.otherwise you cant compete or do any track days because it will fail scrutineering without the right paperwork

no mate at some point these bikes will have come from shops with logbooks but somewhere along the line they have dissapeard lol

someone has to have some sort of registration of chassis nr??or is it so easy to nick what you want and just drive it?

There are a lot of race categeories for showroom class or near standard bikes. I would guess these have come from this and perhaps bought cheaper with no road ID.

The RS500 touring cars have no reg. plates either...

so whats stopping people pinching bikes and using them all seems propper dodgy to me
