i remember seeing the one sue collins did for a guy who later worked
for her,it was a nice thing with white revolutions,otherwise standard looking,but i also saw a rs1600i in blue done by greenlight engineering
that used some of those bits ford developed,it was done for rallying.
i had a 4x4 rs2000 and it was the best handling rs next to a escort cozzie

The one I linked to, in your link above, is turbo'd.

The one with evo gearbox work is a different car.

i no the bloke with the 2.3 turboed one...... well the bloke that bought if off jayson anyway.

hes broken the tranfer box....rs2k running gear is shit.

its not worth messin about with if its standard

its sat right her in that pic for 2 months



is there a link to the evo gearboxed one??????

think he's sellin in back to jayson now tho

The only other bit of info I got possibly regarding the Escorts was that a guy who runs a scrapyard in Headingham (essex?) was and still maybe does have a lot to do with 4x4 development, he had something to do with the Metro 6R4 and some other Rally projects going back as far to twin enginned minis decades ago, he was also making crankshafts for V8 Lotus race engines.
I reckon that'd be Mike Jennings, can't remember if it was castle hedingham or sible hedingham.

Believe it or not that was my old mans car which be bought from new, he did fook all miles in it and let me drive it for about 6months 'kin hated it as it was sooo slow 'kin rapid now thou from what I heard

peaple keep pissing me about on when or if thay are getting
it for me,

my old man is sorting it now and will be getting it next week
ive all ready lost Ł45 for hire of trailer as the rad went on the
car the day before we were going to collect it

yer thats oil but from the sabb that used to park there....i told him to speak to cts as they built the box etc.....dont think gearbox's are jano's thing

dont tear me to bits on this but r the ford prototypes not the same as the gartrac mk4 escys (sierra 4x4 running gear with a mk4 shell sat on it)?

and the jag stuff isnt better its just a little hard to get 9" diffs with the correct ratios

please correct me if i'm wrong as this is a good thread

I bought it from Paul and fitted the 2.3 and Suzuki GSXR throttle bodies, the 2 litre struggles with the 4 wheel drive system and is a bit slow in standard form

I bought the car from Paul, got very bored very quickly and fitted a tuned 2.3 with Suzuki throttle bodies that made just over 200bhp, I got bored again and sold it to Jason who thrashed it around for a year until he melted a piston after a sustained high speed race with a Porsche. Jason then sold on the throttle bodies and fitted a GT 28 turbo, forged pistons, steel rods etc etc and it made 300 bhp on 12 psi of boost. Jason sells the car to a guy who tries to do a WRC stylee 4 wheel burn out by holding it on full lock and dumping over 300 bhp and 320 lbsft through the mildy uprated gearbox, the transfer box shat itself and the guy who broke it then sells it back to Jason who is going FWD by the sound of it.

yer i no what happend with the box i was in the car...was turning on ful lock and came on boost....i'd get the transfer rebuilt personaly....it's bloody good in a straight line

Just spent a good while reading this, didn't realise til page two that it was 2 years old!

I've always loved the idea of a Mk3/4 Escort running the RS2000 4x4 setup.
Surely there must be some way to uprate of replace the transfer box with something better?

the bloke who used to own my s1rst was offered a 4x4 system for his car years back,this was through turbosystems,as he was a good customer .from what i remember it was supposed to have been scrapped but it escaped somehow.i think it was in germany.if i ever bump into him i will quiz him for more details.
