Thought that was the Spec C that did those times.

I was chasing a WR1 at Bedford down the straights no probs so they aren't all that. THey are very good off the line and throught the twisty stuff but I'm still waiting to be impressed by any Impreza. Not lost a tear up with one yet. Even the wifes FRST has scalped a couple and she has more than a 50bhp defecit on mine.

Editted to add they are one of the better ones

A guy at work bought one a few months back after upgrading from a bog standard sti.

the car did look very nice and had all the big brakes etc as standard, exactly as the one pictured above

never got the chance to go in it so cant really comment on its performance.

down side for him was that when we flew out to work in belfast he came home 12 days later to find his house had been broken into and the car taken from his garage!

M8 Pauls on Knockhill!

Pauls handles really well, the front end has been revised so the understeer of earlier Subarus is not an issue on the WR1.

Power wise they are fast and do feel quick on the road.

They can be a little tail happy but nothing to be overly concerned about.

Nice car IMO

They were that new, but now like all scoobs the prices are dropping rapidly, can be got for as low as Ł22-23k now. Just take a look on Autotrader, there's a fair few for sale.

Buying any Scoob with residual losses like they are suffering at the mo, wouldn't be viable IMO - The Focus is holding it's price much better.

Have a read of this

We had one in our convoy to Le Man.

V v quick, did well against the other more expensive cars that went.

Would love one.

A mate of mine has a spec C one and there rare. It goes like stink. Had a race with a 2wd 400bhp + car running T4 the scooby left it standing. I was in the cossie and all I can say is my mate was giving the car hell but by the time we got traction and started going it had pulled around 5 car lengths on us.

That car is amazing. Has swrc.co.uk written all over it.

Must have been something wrong with the cossie then... my mate had a Spec C and in 1st & 2nd gear the Spec C was way faster, but once mine came on boost in 3rd, I was on the Spec C's arse like a rash and had to keep lifting off the throttle.

didnt know they made one in red?

As far as I am aware there are only 3 blue and 1 black in existance, and thats direct from prodrive. When I went on a factory visit with my mate thats what they said.

so hows your mate got a red one?

Are you sure its a Spec C

Absolutely certain. It was imported and taken straight to Litchfields after getting the report done and then SVA'd.

The for sale ad
