Default Service lights on VAG cars

Is there anyway of turning the poxy service light off on the display. It's doing my tits in.

Car is a 97 Audi A4

In advance as I don't want to have to pay my local VAG guy £25 again just to turn the bloody thing off

Could always get the car serviced, that would defiently sort it....

EDIT and if your local VAG specialist charges you £25 he's a thief. It takes less than a MINUTE with the computer.

I service it myself but just can't turn the poxy lights off. Kinda object to being stung for doing a job that I can sort myself.

you can turn it off using the milometer reste button, theres a order which you ahve to push it which i wont be able to tell you till mon when i check at work (VW)

this though will reset it to 10K annual servicing, so if your on longlife servicing it will fuck that up
