Default My wheel left the car after Bruntingthorpe :(

Hi peeps

good to meet everyone again yesterday

well done to everyone I really enjoyed the day some top motors out there shame about the shitty weather

sorry to see Steve car and Ades which had engine probs

Anyway on the way home joining the M1 @ jct 20 the rear wheel decided to leave the car "yes" the long studs just SHEARED OFF without any warning , i was accellerating to join the motorway and all i felt was the N/S back end drop and the rear wheel passed me as i was slowing down " i was doing 70+mph when this happened I thought WTF is going on

Fair play to all the lads that stoped and help me jc/tib/kenny/danny/and loads more they took 2 long studs out of the front and then fitted them to the rear just to get the car ready for the AA truck , i got home about 9.20pm

if theres one good thing atleast the wheel never came off when i was doing a bit of testing or something like that i defo would be dead or the car would be in a very bad state .

Thats one thing about the Rs owners club everyone will help each when things happen when your at a venue

I can't thank you enough cheers for all the help lads

Cheers Marco

you were very lucky Marco.

One of my studs had snapped off after my first track day at silverstone. Didnt even notice tilli was on the way home and there was a funny noise coming out the wheel.

Got home and checked it and found I had snapped 1 stud clean off and the others were very loose.

Dave

yes mate that true they just sheard off with out any warning

they are rallydesign longer studs , but i all honesty i don't think the studs are to blame , i use these spacers without any PCD fittment (universal spacers) because the wheel is resting on the studs and not on the hub and the jerking of the car acellerating i think the move about causing the wheel to move slightly

i was totaly shocked when it happend

but the car didn't feel too bad when it happend because i have the 330mmx32 discs on the back and so is that was basically a wheel I think the lsd helped aswell i might be wrong tho

Rudey

the wheel is ok but we couldn't fit this wheel back on the car because of the spacer .....we went looking for it but couldn't find it

so i got the spare out of the boot which clears the calipers and disc

the onlt damge i think it has done to the car that it has pulled the kit off thats about it

Hi Peeps lesson learnt

I have got some of these hubcentric spacers which Tony made for me but they dont fit Tony

I mean they fit but they dont fit flush to the hub face , i'll have to take them and get the centers machined in a bit so they fit flush on my hub then the wheel can sit on the hub bit

Cheers marco

I am pining to get the car back to full power the way it was

I can't get it back to full power untill i get the part throttle sorted out this is what stoping me , the car from 1700rpm to 2.500rpm on part throttle is jerking like a bitch .......

I don't know what causing the problem as Martin has tryed all the sensors ,map/ air temp/crank /water temp /tps /every sensor has be changed still no joy he is going to try a loom is the next step if that still doesn't work then it can only be the Ecu what else could it be

this doesnot happen when i acelarte at all only part throttle
