Calipers for rear disc convo on ERST.
What disks are used for the conversions. Is it a case of brackets, calipers, new handbrake cables new disks or is it much more involved than this.
Any one done one, or using one currently - they make much difference.

To be honest Im not too sure. Guess its the worry of re running all the return pipes ect. Currently Im being a little naughty it has an ABS fault on her just the bulb is out. How much you looking at for the brackets. What sierras use rear disks. I know just the man for sierra bits. What cable do ya use for the handbrake.

Think carefully about the size of the discs - 2wd cossie discs (which are the obvious "standard" ) are really too big for Escort conversions. It will be overbraked at the back, locking up the rear on hard braking... Ask Lewis what effect that has when you aren't expecting it!
Mainstream/Xr4x4 Sierra discs are 20mm smaller diameter and are much better suited (and cheaper ), especially if you have cossie size fronts as well.
You will need brackets to suit the chosen disc size.
If you choose cossie size discs you WILL need to plumb some form of pressure limiting valve in the rear pipe feed to get a reasonable balance.

brackets vary from £30 - £40 for a set - that should include all new bolts etc.
Brom/Sean have them at Zoo, RichM, & probably Mike R too. RS2000 cable is correct, and most sierras have rear discs. Mine came from a scrappy @ £5 each
Edited just to agree with Rich, big is not always best for the rear.

you only really want to go for rear discs if you've uprated the fronts because on normal cars they only do around 10 percent of the braking. i've got standards on the front addmittedly, but they'll soon be upgraded to brembo four pots. even with the standard fromt and cossie rears, the balance is okay...

Needs some more research then,
I was thinking keeping RST Mechanical ABS - Yeah I know dont ask.
Will be able to get sierra Calipers no hassles with some new disks
