Deteriorating Eyesight is a VERY common one. headaches are exactly how i discovered i need glasses.

Ask someone with confirmed eyesight to do a quick test on a far away sign, see how you do with it, failing that, remind me tonight when we are out and about hun...

you may be getting cervical headaches, which come from the cervical spine (neck), its quite common with people in sedentary jobs (especailly sitting by a computer), as you have your neck extended (looking up at screen) but protracted and flexed (chin forwards). its not definitely cos obviously i cant see u but if it is then u will want physio on it... try and put ur neck in a neutral position as often as possible, and keep it moving around when ur working, like roll ur head every few minutes. it may be to do with eyesight too.. but this is really common. hope that helps a bit

Kim,

Could be that you are suffering from dehydration.

In my case (bad headaches that lasted for 3 - 5 days) I was advised to drink lots of water and as if by magic the headaches went away within a day!

Dehydration – the facts:

When you are dehydrated, it means that the amount of fluids (water) your body is losing is more than the amount of water your body is taking in. Your body is made up of about two-thirds water.
There are three levels of dehydration:

A healthy mind is as important as a healthy body. Low concentration levels could be a result of dehydration. Headaches are often a sign of dehydration, so before reaching for a headache pill, try a glass of water.

Pain in the front part of head is either nervous tension or blocked sinuses.

...but in your case i'd deffo say to much looking at a computer screen ..what refresh rate have you got it set to?

Doug Stirling - you may have a point there...its got worse since i went the gym, so supose it could be linked to dehydration...i must admit, i dont drink a lot of water...will try and see how that goes tahnks hunni

So....have a hose pipe style hydration system running through your mouth, get some giant comedy glasses, never use a computer again and get some physio from Jamieslittleracer....hehe...sounds like a plan

Also stress related headaches? Are you especially stressed at the moment? just to add something else to the diagnosis

Hope they clear up anyway

Give NHSDirect a call before going to A&E.

www.nhsdirect.co.uk or 0845 4647

The fact you've had a headache for 2 weeks could be something serious.

Alternatively it could be to do with diet, or as others have said, your eyesight.

It isnt worth taking any chances though..

They do get a lot of genuinely stupid people ringing asking for other things....so somebody with an actual problem will excite them no end. Improve these peoples lives and ring them...

Just a thought...if anyone has a headache that lasts more than 48hrs you MUST see a Doc because it can be something serious.

Thunderclap headache

This headache really lives up to its name, grabbing your attention like a boom of thunder. It's a severe headache that reaches its maximum intensity in less than a minute, then lasts for an hour to 10 days.

Occasionally these are nothing to worry about, or they're the symptom of a relatively minor problem such as an acute sinus infection. However, visit your doctor promptly upon having one. In some cases the headache may be caused by a bleeding in the brain, an unruptured aneurysm — a weakening in an artery that may burst — or other blood vessel problems.
