As above, played it once last year but im fooked if i know how to play it!! Any tips except on winning or knocking the others out??

We're all chucking £50 in the kitty and there are 10 of us playing so a nice bit of money to be won!!!

I guess you'll be beter off playing a little tight to start (only make moves if your holding a pair of tens or better) then loosen up a little bit later on (k-6 etc) after you've seen how the others play.

If some one bets quite heavy and your holding a half decent hand fold the fucker as you'll prob be a bit exicted and go all in (you playing no limit?) then get mugged with a better hand that you didn't realise was there.


Just have fun man but as there is 10 of you why not sort out a 1st 2nd and 3rd prize £350, £100, £50 sort of thing?

stay sober mate for defo. try and notice paturns in peoples play but dont think about it to much as you'll go mental trying to figure out what others are doing.

which version of the game you playing??? 5 card draw, texas hold em ......

If you're playing hold 'em then only start with the following hands:

AA
KK
AK
QQ
JJ
10/10

When you have the best of it, then get in there, and be raising, and make people pay to see you - this will usually weadle out those trying to call on the cheap and limp into pots they have no right being in.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to knock people out - they will ifnd their own way out, when they get caught bluffing at pots that you're in, especially if you only start with the best hands.

If you miss the flop, be prepared to let what looks like a good initial hand go - chasing draws will usually have you losing a lot more than winning.

Although moving all-in is spectacular, avoid doing it if it all possible, as most other players will be starting with reasonable hands as well, and you'll most likely end up as a 3-2 underdog or evens for all your chips.

Avoid playing cards like A3 or A4, as when you hit top pair on the flop, you will be beat nearly half the time by a better kicker.

Have fun, enjoy it, and it's only ever about the money, and not beating that bloke who you don't really like that much.

the best tip ever mate, if youre small blind, or the player before small blind and everyone checks, RAISE LIKE FUCK!!!

if they check, theyve got a shit hand, and if they think youve got a good hand (by raising shitloads) theyll fold and you'll win their buy ins!!

also, NEVER show your cards if you bluff people out, NEVER!!!
