Went to pick up an engine I'd won on e-bay last night and the geezer had a lovely 4x4 Saph on his drive.

I complimented him on it and said I had a 3 door... and then he said the Cossie was supercharged.... so he pops the bonnet and right where the turbo should have been was a lovely blower.

When he fired it up it sounded awesome !

And it had been done soooo well it must have been a kit, has anyone else got / seen a supercharged cossie motor ?

It was pitch black mate...

I was expecting to pick up a MkII Cortina engine... which ironically I am putting a supercharger on.....

I didnt take my camera and full lighting rig with me.... expecting to see the cossie.

Unfortunately the bloke didnt know anything about it really he just said he bought it like that.

The only other thing he did say was it kept popping inlet manifold gaskets.

He said it drove lovely aswell as the power was there from the word go...

I dont know what boost it was running but it was on greens


But it looked a pukka kit, everything had a proper place in the engine bay it wasnt just something someone had lashed up.

The blower was sat right where the turbo would have been up close to the head, not like in the link above.

There was an ex drag racer called pat (lyznic?) who used to race in the

rover challenge with a v8 powered hb viva,Danny B may remember him?

He made the kit to convert cossies to superchargers,had the manifolds

cast,etc.

This was a few years ago now ,and the venture never really took off,

I would think that this is one of his conversions.
